Pollinator Edges

Our landscape is abundant with mature woodlands and scarce in early succession habitats. Maintaining woodland edges from encroaching on farm land through limb removal can be dangerous and expensive. We are removing mature trees along our field edges to improve our yields and lower our maintenance costs. This in turn creates early succession habitat which is favourable to many of our native pollinators. We are monitoring native pollinator populations and look forward to seeing the results.
